Not many people get to meet their Great-Grandmother in their lifetime. Fewer still are the ones that actually get to build and have a relationship with them. My Great-Grandmother Deloris Cavell Swan passed away today. I will forever be grateful for her faith. She chose to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when she was a young mother. Because of her and my Great-Grandfather my family has enjoyed the blessings of being a church member. I know that this is not the end and that I will see her again one day. I know she is with my Grandfather now. He passed away 16 years ago. I loved them both dearly. Before I was even thinking of getting married I had a dream. My dream was to take 5 generation pictures with my daughter, myself, my mother, Grandmama, and Great Grandma Swan. After I was married I was getting concerned when my baby plans weren't panning out as quickly as I had planned. I knew she was old and had no clue when she would be called back to our Heavenly Father. I know Heavenly Father knew the intentions of my heart and I was able to travel to Utah with my 3 week old baby girl and my mom to take our 5 generation pictures. Some people tried to talk me out of having them professionally taken but, I believe in photographs, and I knew they needed to be good. I am so glad I went with my gut instinct because that was the last time I saw her. That day we took pictures, was the last day she was happy and smiling, it was the first day she had been outside in a while. I begged my Grandmother to let her come outside even though it was difficult for Great Grandma. She was so happy, it was a beautiful day. Now I can cherish that beautiful day for ever.

Dreams really do come true. I know it is a long shot but I hope to do this again in another 20 years :)
